Driven by our passion of riding with an urge to contribute towards humanity, Sikh Motorcycle Club members travelled on their bikes from Canada to Punjab during their World Tour 2019 travelling across 22 countries in 40 days. The ride aimed to mark the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and raise funds for Khalsa Aid, an international non profit aid and relief organization.
After riding in North America, we took a flight across the Atlantic Ocean to UK with our bikes in the same plane. Kawasaki KLRs were our road partners in this ride with personalised License Plates ‘CA-PB’ numbered 1 to 6. The journey was through plains, mountains, desert, snow and sun with the minimum of -6 degrees in Turkey to a maximum of 48 degrees in Pakistan. The entire route from Europe to India through Turkey, Iran and Pakistan is filled with jaw-dropping views. We received unimaginable love and affection from every part of the world and people were generous enough to donate as well. We travelled 400-500 Km everyday and with God’s Grace, we did not face any major hurdle, neither a mechanical nor safety glitch.
We crossed Wagah Border to enter Punjab from Pakistan, visiting all the places associated with Guru Nanak, and were welcomed by the riders from all over India. The underlying message of the voyage was to ‘Recognize the whole Human Race as One’ and to raise awareness about Sikhs & Sikhism. We successfully raised 100000 CAD during this ride which were handed to Khalsa Aid after this ride.
Well, what you set out to achieve is what you get. All it was set out to spread the message of humanity, humanity is what we found.
