The Sikh Motorcycle Club of Canada is proud to support the “We Can’t Wait Another 100 Years” campaign to commemorate the discovery of insulin and addresses the urgency about diabetes. Fostering a national conversation: although the 100th anniversary is an incredible discovery; insulin is not enough. It’s the starting line, not the finish line for diabetes.

We can’t wait another 100 years to End Diabetes.
100 years ago, Canadians discovered insulin.
100 years later even more Canadians have diabetes than ever before.
Diabetes or prediabetes affects 1 in 3 Canadians.
1 in 2 young adults will develop diabetes in their remaining lifetime.
Sadly, Diabetes is one of Canada’s most successful diseases.

Even with the help from insulin over the past 100 years, diabetes is successful at slowly shutting down your body one part at a time. Whether it be causing blindness, a heart attack, stroke, or kidney failure, diabetes continues to take a toll. We can’t wait another 100 years to End Diabetes.

Sikh Motorcycle Club BC Canada along with its inter-provincial counterparts finished a ride on 31st July in each respective province to support Diabetes Canada. The ride was very successful as it raised awareness about Diabetes and raised an impressive six-figure donation of $113,000 which was handed to Diabetes Canada in our #LetsEndDisbetes campaign. Historically the Sikh Motorcycle Club of Ontario has raised around $170,,000 and continues to support kids living with type 1 diabetes, fund vital programs and services for those affected by diabetes in our communities and fund vital research

This effort was honoured by Canadian Diabetes association by installing a brick at the Banting House National Historic Museum 442 Adelaide St N in London, Ontario on November 14th,2021.

We would once again like to thank everyone for the physical and financial support without which this would have not been possible. Another positive contribution of this ride was to bring together different riding clubs of Lower Mainland and to promote riding Brotherhood.

Thanks for the love and support. 🙏🏻 🙏🏻
