Sikh Motorcycle Club members like other Harley Davidson enthusiasts from all over the globe were in Milwaukee for Harley-Davidson’s 115th Anniversary. This was a two week ride from Vancouver, British Columbia to Milwaukee giving us a chance to make new friends and connect with people who share a love for life on two wheels. Early Saturday morning on 25th August 2018, our members left our hometown and headed for Milwaukee, some 3,500 km away. The Ride started in Canada and went across the USA through Washington, Montana, North Dakota, Minnesota to finally reach our destination in Wisconsin. You don’t realize how big the USA is until you spend hours riding through one state. On our way, we discovered some of the most significant historical sites, not to mention a huge array of landscapes and an even greater diversity of people. This route gets most of the attention for its weather and natural beauty.
As we entered Milwaukee, it was nuts. The entire city was the venue for the 115th anniversary celebration. Every street had a stage with bands playing, there was a tent set up on every corner, the streets were overtaken by bikes and the city was buzzing. We have never seen so many bikes in our life. There were so many HOG patches, meetups, and even tattoos everywhere, you couldn’t turn around without seeing a HOG member and their crew.
The return route was through Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Oregon, Washington and finally back to British Columbia in Canada. From ancient Native American rock drawings to incredible highways through red-rock country, this unforgettable road trip took us through some of the country’s least inhabited areas and memories to be cherished forever.
When we are hanging with our bikes, we don’t talk about politics or finances. It’s all about the ride, experiences, riding, taking pictures and meeting other people.
